Each year a small number of UCSC students with a B.A. in linguistics, language studies, or related disciplines are admitted into the department's graduate program to pursue the M.A. in theoretical linguistics. (The department also admits students to the program from outside of UCSC.)

Students interested in exploring this option should discuss the possibility with one or more of the department's faculty members and should formally apply for admission to the graduate program by the deadline.
